In this tutorial we will show you how to install of Firefox 36 on your Linux server. For those of you who didn’t know, Firefox a most commonly used browsers by everyone and one of the standard browsers too.It is an opensource browser and it is developed by mozilla corporation and mozilla Foundation and  available for Multiple Operating systems (ie) Windows,Linux,Mac OSX.

This article assumes you have at least basic knowledge of linux, know how to use the shell, and most importantly, you host your site on your own VPS. The installation is quite simple and assumes you are running in the root account, if not you may need to add ‘sudo’ to the commands to get root privileges. I will show you through the step by step installation Firefox web browser on a Linux server.

The following are the Minor changes in Firefox 36:

  • Added support for pinned tiles on the new tab page can be synced across desktops.
  • Added support for the HTTP/2 protocol, which “gives a faster, scalable, responsive web expreince.
  • Fixed some unexpected logout from Facebook or Google after restarting Firefox.
  • Shut down hangs will now display crash reporter before exiting the program.
  • Various important security fixes.

Step 1. Download latest Firefox, use the following command.

Step 2. Extract the tar package to a desired directory.

Step 3. Symlink the downloaded executable to /usr/bin/firefox.

Step 4. Now, check the version of already installed Firefox and get the extract location of binary command.
